Little Hans

Many voices are pounding home the point of what the DUTCH have done. Why the hell don't we just contract with them to do the needful? We seem to incapable of even mounting a plan much less do anything concrete about the wetlands and levees.

Comments

That article was probably one of the best I've seen in the press about flood protection. But notice in the comments that follow, even after all that explanation of how it can be done, how it is being done in the Netherlands, you still get the standard "New Orleans is in a bowl and should not be rebuilt." Makes me want to find a brick wall to pound my head against.

Peace,

Tim

Tim, unfortunately there will always be people like this. They should strengthen your resolve to make your city the best that it can be under the circumstances. There's a lot of people doing a lot of work to rebuild. Like you said, it might take 10 years. I just hope that it will happen sooner than later. Try to remember that many of these people don't know what the hell they are talking about. Peace
